About EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers) 

EAGE is a global professional, not-for-profit association for geoscientists and engineers with 18,000 members worldwide. EAGE’s main activities consist of organising conferences, workshops, exhibitions,  short courses and publishing. EAGE’s objectives is to promote the development and application of geosciences and related engineering subjects, to promote innovation and technical progress and to foster the communication, fellowship and cooperation between those working in, studying or otherwise being interested in these fields. 

We have offices in The Netherlands (Head  office), Dubai, Kuala Lumpur and Bogota. 

EAGE Communities operate within the Association with the mission of empowering members in knowledge and experience exchange, as well as offering mutual support in various areas. EAGE has 18 technical and special interest communities as well as 28 local chapters. You can learn more here.

For our office in Bogota, Colombia, we are currently looking for a: 

Community Manager 

(Fulltime) 

As Community Manager you are a member of the Communities and Development Team. You will be dedicated to translate the needs of EAGE membership and various communities into activities and content to be developed by EAGE. You have a good understanding of geoscience or the engineering disciplines, are driven, proactive, and excellent networker and communicator knowing how to bring people together and engage them with a dynamic and energetic work attitude.

What are your tasks and responsibilities? 

  • Track and analyze relevant developments in the field

  • Support various EAGE communities, deepening their engagement and connections.

  • Provide logistical and operational support for community-driven online and in-person events such as local chapter meetups, technical and special interest sessions, and community activities within EAGE events.

  • Identify new content-related opportunities and develop new activities for various audiences, aiming to align EAGE communities with the membership needs (e.g. through education programmes, online or in-person events, etc).

  • Coordinate multi-community input on broader EAGE initiatives and events.

  • Maintain ongoing communication with community groups and disseminate information about their activities.

  • Act as a liaison between EAGE and communities, organize meetings, assist with reporting, and track agreed community deliverables.

  • Support the onboarding of new community and chapter leaders.

  • Support the development of new technical and local communities.

What qualifications do you need?  

  • Bachelor degree, preferably with focus on geoscience or engineering disciplines,  international relations, or (science) communications

  • A track record of community engagement and programme development

  • Competences: flexibility, collaboration, customer orientation, communication, persuasiveness,  networking. 

  • High level of English written as well as spoken (C2). 

  • A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience, preferably in an international environment
